Junior Broncos Wrestling Clubs

**We begin practice next week on 11/12/25. Here are some things to know about practices:

  • 1st - 3rd grade practices are Tuesdays/Thursdays from 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm in room A1 at Carnegie Middle School (front room by MP room).

  • 4th - 6th grade practices are Mondays/Wednesdays from 5:30 pm - 7 pm in room A1 at Carnegie Middle School (front room by the MP room).

  • Wrestlers will need wrestling shoes and clothes to practice in (just workout shorts/shirt) and a water bottle.

  • Parents/guardians are invited to stay and watch but you are not required to stay and watch.   If you are in the room, please be quiet and respectful when the coaches are teaching instruction.  It's challenging to try and talk over the parents' conversations.

  • Please encourage your wrestler to stay on task and to not talk while the coaches are giving instructions.   Once one kids starts distracting others, it becomes contagious and very difficult to get the room quiet again.

  • Wrestling practice is hard fun.  I instill a growth mindset with the Jr. Broncos and teach kids perseverance, how to deal with adversity, and a lot of positive mental techniques.  The goal is to get the kids to have fun and fall in love with the sport of wrestling and to fall in love with training.

  • Typically, if there is no school for the SJUSD then there is no practice.  This means we will not practice during Thanksgiving Break.  However, last season we had some optional practices during winter break (nowhere near Christmas)

  • I will be communicating with you via Team Snap (and I will post on this website).  If you did not sign up via Team Snap or you are not on the Team Snap page I will take care of you on the first day of practice

  • On the first day of practice I will have a waiver for you to fill out if you have not filled it out yet

  • If you have not paid yet, please bring cash or a check to the first practice.  Checks can be made out to the Bella Vista Boosters Club - Wrestling

  • Make sure you read through all of the parent section on the website.  I have my philosophy on competitions on there and explain why I discourage new wrestlers and younger wrestlers from competing in tournaments.  We will do a couple of mixers this year with other clubs.   We are finalizing a date with the Vista Del Lago kids club and the Casa Roble Kids Club.  These are a ton of fun and it's just a combined practice where we have the kids go live against other kids at the end of the practices.

  • If you have any questions or concerns at any time that aren't on the website or Team Snap account please email me: Garrett.Lane@sanjuan.edu or text/call me (916) 521-4354

  • I'm sure I'm missing some information so I'll update this section as soon as it comes to me.

  • I'm excited for the season!   The coaches are all positive coaches and work to make a positive impact in each wrestler's life.

**Some information: Please read through the parent section but plan on having some wrestling shoes for your wrestler (Big 5, Dick's Sporting, Rudis, Nike, Asics), and some basic workout gear like sweats and a shirt.  Please remind your wrestler to stay on task and listen to the coaches.  We are excited to start a positive, hard fun, and fruitful season with you all.

Please read the parent information at least once!
