Donations

For many years now district cutbacks have made funding for high school athletics near non-existant. In the past, coaches just coached, while districts picked-up the expenses. In all sports, district funding is now minimal. Coaches must now be aggressive fundraisers as well as coaches, councilors, etc. It is parent and community support that now makes high school athletics go.

The average wrestling season takes about $8,000 to run. These expenses being tournament entry fees, minor equipment, team t-shirts, coaching stipends, etc. This does not include the updating of uniforms, hotels for away tournaments, reconditioning or new wrestling mats, etc. We currently run one tournament (Bella Vista Winter Classic) which raises about $4,500 each year, the district gives us $200, and then we do fundraisers to make-up the difference.

If you would like to sponsor our wrestling team in some way, it would be greatly appreciated. Here are some possible ways to help:

1) Straight donation, checks made to "Bella Vista Wrestling" and sent to Bella Vista High School, 8301 Madison Ave, Fair Oaks, Ca 95628, in care of Michael Lee, Wrestling Coach

2) A donation check with a business logo that we can put on our annual team posters, which are put up throughout campus and at local business'.

3) Set-up a wrestling scholarship where a worthy freshman, sophomore, or junior gets money toward a summer wrestling camp to improve their skills for the next season. You can pick the criteria for the winner.
